We have been so busy with everything lately. I am very concerned about the amount of school that the boys have missed because of Caleb being so nauseous constantly from the chemo. If we are still going with the chemo in the fall, Joshua will have to go to school somewhere. I would love for it to be the private school at our church – New Hope School. We’ll see how everything plays out. God knows what is best for both of the boys and will lead us in the right direction.
Caleb has only had three days of chemo in the last two weeks, but it has been with the drug that he has the most nausea with. So he has been in the bed for most of the time. We thought he was going to make it to church yesterday, but he got sick right as we were about to leave and Holly stayed home with him, missing for the second straight week. We have one day of chemo this week which is Wednesday.
We are so excited that we are finally getting more scans done. They will all happen on Valentine’s Day. We can’t wait to see the visual evidence of what has already taken place! God has been so good to us!
I have mentioned in past blogs about two young children at our church that were diagnosed with diabetes. There has been some amazing progress and God is up to something! Please remember to pray for the Dockal and Daly families. The glucose numbers have been way low (like “normal” low) most of the time, which is awesome. But sometimes they are all over the place with no rhyme or reason. I believe that their pancreases are trying to restart and function properly. We are still believing for complete restoration and to be able to stop all insulin!
Please be praying for us as a family, as well. We have some decisions to make in the next few weeks that are going to be very important. We are very ready to move back to our own home, but we have to be sure its the right move in every way – for Caleb’s care and for us financially. There are other things we have to make decisions on, as well. But we have the promise that God will never forsake us and we are standing on it!
Today’s verse – “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:10
