We were just informed today that Caleb will have to stay Friday night, as well. They want to be sure that he gets enough fluids after the chemo is over. His chemo starts around 10:30 tomorrow morning, so I will lobby to have them let us go home after that if his fluid levels are good. But obviously we will go with what they think is best for him.
Holly stayed with Caleb last night so I could do a little work today. I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted, but having a little break from the hospital was great and I got to spend the day with Joshua. Little brother has been unbelievably supportive and has put up with a lot of lost personal time with mom and dad. We are so blessed with wonderful kids.
I have been a little down the last couple of days because of some other stuff going on in addition to all of this hospital and chemo stuff. I spent some time this morning – instead of praying and asking – just quoting scriptures of victory and praising God for the answers we need. It is such a great joy to have such an awesome Father that loves us so much. It is amazing how just speaking God’s Word can turn your whole countenance around. I am also thankful for friends that bring JOY into my life by knocking me upside the head spiritually when I need a soft rebuke and gentle reminder of God’s grace and mercy. I am blessed indeed!
Today’s verse – For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You! -Psalm 84:10-12
